New gas lines run to ranges, dryers, barbecues, garage heaters and outdoor appliances. Line sizing done properly for the appliance load, not just to the nearest fitting that works.

Gas fireplace servicing
Servicing and maintenance of gas fireplaces and inserts, not only installation. A service covers the burner and pilot assembly, the thermocouple or thermopile, the glass and its gasket, the venting, and a check that the unit lights cleanly and shuts down as it should.
A fireplace that has sat unused since spring is the one worth booking. Dust and spider webbing in a pilot assembly is the usual reason a fireplace will not light on the first cold evening in November, and it is a far smaller job in September than it is in December.
If your fireplace is lighting but the glass is sooting up, the flame is lazy or yellow, or it shuts itself down after a few minutes, that is worth a look rather than a wait.

Why the ticket matters
Gas work in British Columbia is regulated. A Class B Gas Fitter certification is required for most residential gas work, and the work is permitted through Technical Safety BC.
That is not a technicality. Gas that has been run by somebody without the ticket is a safety issue, an insurance issue, and a problem the next time you sell the house or have an appliance serviced. If you are getting quotes, ask directly who holds the gas ticket and whether the work will be permitted.
